   Numeric’s

But EVERY alphabetical letter represented a number!

Using this system one can see that the word `and’ could be expressed alphabetically and also numerically in Greek for instance as follows –

English                 A          N         D

Greek                 alpha       nu      delta

Greek numbers     1           50         4            =  55

Therefore the word ‘and’ expressed in Greek, has a numeric value of 55. This then is the basis of the design of numbers occurring in the Bible.

1                      God, beginning, unity

2                      Witness, testimony, division

3                      Divine perfection, Godhead, completeness, Perfect Testimony

4                      Earth, creation, winds, seasons.

5                      Grace, heavenly favour, the cross, five-fold ministries

6                      Man, beast, Satan.

7                      Perfection, God’s seal, completeness

8                      Resurrection, new beginnings, Jesus.

9                      Finality, fullness, fruitfulness, fruit of Spirit, gifts of the Spirit

10                    Law, order, Government, restoration, a tithe

11                    Disorder, incompleteness.

12                    Devine government

13                    Rebellion, corruption, apostasy.

14                    Passover

17                    Perfection of Spiritual order

24                    Governmental perfection (24 Elders)

30                    Consecration, maturity for ministry

37                    The Word of God

40                    Trial, testing, probation.

50                    Pentecost, liberty, jubilee

70                    number prior to increase or representative of a multitude.

75                    number of separation, cleansing, purification.

120                  end of all flesh, beginning of life in the Spirit.

144                  God’s ultimate in creation

153                  Son’s of God, the elect, revival, ingathering

666                  Antichrist, Satan.

The number 7 is the most prolific of all the numbers which bind Scripture together. It appears nearly 600 times. Seven is known as God’s seal or watermark, or the number of spiritual perfection.

The very first verse of the Bible, found in Genesis 1.1 is where Panin found the first of innumerable series of groups of sevens.

“In the beginning God created heaven and

            the earth”

contains over 30 different combinations of 7 beneath the surface. The verse itself is made up of 7 Hebrew words which total 28 (7×4) alphabetical letters. The numeric value of the three nouns, God, heaven, earth, total 777. Any number multiplied by itself or triplicated as this one is expresses fullness, the ultimate, or strong emphasis.

Not only are these words a cumulative watermark of God’s number, but within them they contain another amazing truth because 37 is the number of the Word of God and 777 is also a multiple of this number (37×21).

Here we see that underneath the surface is a confirmation that the worlds were framed by the spoken Word of God as depicted in the following verses of Genesis by the words “let there be…”

The only noun, “created”, has a value of 203 (7×29). The subject of the sentence which is the first three words, “In the beginning”  has 14 Hebrew letters (7×2) and so on…

THE NUMBER OF SIN – 13

This number is pervasive in our culture as an ‘unlucky’ number. It is treated with much superstition. Many high-rise Hotels do not include a thirteenth floor. Others do not include 13 in their room numbering system. Why is this?

Perhaps its connection with sin, rebellion and Satan himself has something to do with it. Yet most people would not understand that this is provable by numerics. Let us look at the pattern of 13’s and see what words and phrases reveal this number.

KLEPTO         meaning to steal          occurs 13 times in N.T.

ZUME             meaning leaven(sin)    occurs 13 times in O.T.

BACKSLIDING                                occurs 13 times in O.T.

HYPOCRITE                                     occurs 13 times in O.T.

DRAGON                                          occurs 13 times in O.T.

Other names besides ‘Dragon’ which refer to Satan, such as ‘Tempter’, ‘Murderer’, and ‘Serpent’ all have gematria (or numeric totals) which are divisible by 13.

In Chapter 12 in the Book of Revelation there is an account of the time to come when Satan will be overthrown and stripped of all power. The descriptive words by which he is known have the most incredibly revealing numerics,

the total gematria being 2197 –

‘called the Devil and Satan’                 13 x 13 x 13

Keep this group of numbers in mind. I have something stunning to show you in providing proof of the integrity and consistency of the Bible. We will now focus on the numerics of John 19.19.

Previously, in John 3.14, Jesus predicted in what manner his life would end. The Scripture reads –

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the

wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be  lifted up.

Jesus was referring to the account in the Old Testament book of Numbers when the Lord sent serpents amongst the people because of their rebellion and sin. The people confessed their sin to Moses who prayed for them. God spoke, telling Moses to make a brazen serpent and set it upon a pole saying that everyone who was bitten, when they beheld the serpent on the pole, would live.

This of course was a type or a picture of Christ who was yet to come. This direction from God was to show us that when we behold the crucified Christ, we too will live.

Why then did the pole display a serpent, a type of sin?

Why also did this point to Jesus, a sinless man?

Because Jesus was to die once for ALL sin. He was to pay the price for you and I. In fact He was to actually BECOME SIN!  Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5.21 the following.

For he made Him who knew no sin to be sin

for us, that we might become the righteousness

  of God in Him.

This explains then why Jesus cried out at the climax of His crucifixion, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ God withdrew his presence because Jesus took all the sin of the world upon Himself.

Above the head of Jesus was an inscription which the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate, had commanded to be displayed. The first words of that inscription simply say the words – ‘JESUS OF NAZARETH’

The gematria of this title is also 2197  –  13 x 13 x 13 !

Can you see the significance? When Jesus became sin he also became the number of sin. Can you agree with me that this is unexplainable except through the agency of a Divine hand.
